BIOGRAPHY

An ancient Goa'uld, he was said to have been the first emperor of China and sprang to life from the mouth of a dragon with magical powers. He was a harsh ruler, but great advances came from his rule. It is also rumoured that he is one of the only Goa'uld System Lords remaining from the time of Anubis' banishment.

When SG-1 killed Hathor, the Goa'uld System Lords were prepared to attack Earth in order to permanently halt all attacks from it. The Asgard proposed to include Earth in the Protected Planets' Treaty, the System Lords agreed and sent Cronos, Yu and Nirrti as their representatives. The negotiations were sabotaged with the near-death of Cronos, by the apparent hands of Teal'c, who was healed by Major Carter. It was later revealed that Nirrti had been developing invisibility technology similar to Hathor's and had been the true culprit behind the failed assassination attempt. Yu and Cronos agreed to the treaty and returned with Nirrti to have her punished by the other System Lords.

After several months of constant attacks on behalf of the rogue Goa'uld Anubis, Yu along with the six other most powerful System Lords agreed to a truce and met on a neutral space station in order to negotiate an alliance in order to stop the current invasion into their realms.

The late arrival of Osiris identified Anubis as their enemy and the present System Lords were forced to vote Anubis back into their fold or risk more attacks on their domains. Yu still refused to vote on Anubis' behalf, even though and cunning plan to destroy Earth was promised by Osiris on the behalf of Anubis himself. In a misunderstood fight with Osiris, Yu was stabbed by the treacherous Goa'uld and thought to have been killed.

Yu in fact not dead, by still severely weakened by the attack. Imhotep, rounding up as many rebel Jaffa against the Goa'uld as he could, began attacking several System Lords including Nirrti and Zipacna. When Imhotep targeted Yu, he sent Teal'c who was captured and brought before Yu where he was told the truth about the Imhotep's treachery. As soon as Teal'c returned to the planet and defeated the Jaffa impersonator. Yu attacked the planet from orbit with one of his motherships shortly after the battle.

Still unsatisfied with the System Lords' alliance with Anubis, Yu has apparently gone on the offensive against him. From last reports, Yu seems to be gaining some ground against the vast forces of Anubis. It is unknown at the time if other Goa'uld System Lords have joined him against Anubis at the time.

Acting on information sent by the SGC, Yu attacked one of Baal's most secret outposts. The outpost, kept a secret from the other System Lords, was destroyed by Yu's mothership(s). The attack gave Jack O'Neill the chance to flee from Baal's prison and back to Earth.

NOTES

Yu acts more like a moderator amongst the System Lords, attempting to keep the balance of power equal among his peers. He is also one of the only System Lords that has almost no quarrel with Earth and SG-1.
