DESCRIPTION AND HISTORY

Founded over two thousand years ago by the rogue queen known as Egeria. The Tok'ra are her last batch of symbiotes before having been tracked down and sealed on Pangara by Ra for her defiance.

Unlike the Goa'uld, the Tok'ra take their host's on a voluntary basis.

The Tok'ra use subterfuge and stealth to undermind the collective power of the System Lords, keeping them off-balance while they attempt to rid the galaxy of the Goa'uld. It is a great insult for a Tok'ra to be called a Goa'uld, since they distinguish themselves from the remainder of Goa'uld society.

The Tok'ra do not use sarcophagi to heal themselves since they believe it destroys the soul of the person, making them evil like the Goa'uld.

Recently, the Tok'ra's numbers have diminished due to an attack on Revenna by Zipacna's forces. Anubis also has apparently learned several Tok'ra secrets while using some advanced technology to interrogate a Tok'ra prisoner.

Aldwyn
A Tok'ra operative, he launched a device inside the molten core of the hellish moon of Netu in order to make it explode, taking out Sokar's mothership in the process.

He was in charge to teaching new SG unit members Tok'ra tactics and operations when Zipacna attacked Revenna. He was killed when Zipacna's forces attacked the Tok'ra base.

Anyse
A Tok'ra scientist, she came to Earth in order to experiment with the Antoniek armbands which gave superhuman strength to the wearer.

She also developed technology in order to detect and extract za'tarc programming used by certain System Lords.

Cordesh
A traitor, he revealed the location of the original Tok'ra base to the Goa'uld who attacked the base. He was found out by SG-1 and extracted from his host, killing him.

Garshaw
The leader of the Tok'ra, she is the most hunted symbiote of all time. She is hesitant at first to enter an alliance with the Tau'ri, but later is more receptive to the idea.

Due to the high price on her head, she is very well hidden and very rarely seen.

Jolinar of Malkshur
One of the most known Tok'ra operative, she led an attack against a powerful System Lord, but failed when Apophis joined the battle and turned the tide.

She was once captured by Sokar and sent to Netu where she used her relationship with Bynarr to escape the hellish prison.

Out of necessity, she took Samantha Carter as a host, but was killed by the Ashrak. She gave up her life so that Carter could live. She was also the mate of Martouf's symbiote, Lantash.

Kalmaa
A Tok'ra more specialised in medicine. She gave her life so that the Tok'ra Egeria could use her host body after the Pangarans had enslaved Egeria and her children in order to produce an immortality serum.

Khonsu
A Tok'ra posing as a minor Goa'uld under the service of Anubis. He attempted to relay his information through SG-1 by having his first prime Herak capture them alive for him. He was found out by Anubis who told Herak to kill him.

Malek
Former commander of the Tok'ra base on the planet Risa. He fled with Jacob and the rest of the base's occupants to Earth's Alpha Site. He had antagonistic feelings towards the rebel Jaffa on the planet, but those feelings were put aside when an assassin tried to start a conflict between the Tok'ra and the jaffa.

He witnessed the death of the Tok'ra queen Egeria.

Martouf
The host to Lantash, he was the lover of Jolinar. He is among the Tok'ra that are most favorable to the alliance with the Taur'ri.

He is later revealed to be a za'tarc programmed to kill the President of the United States when it was time to sign a treaty between the Tok'ra and the Tau'ri. He was mercifully killed by Samantha Carter before committing suicide as the za'tarc programming ordered.

Per'sus
A High Council, he came to Earth in order to sign a treaty between the two powers to further the exchange of knowledge and strategic information on the Goa'uld.

Ren'au
She came to Earth in order to warn General Hammond of the possibility of SG-1 and Selmak's death after the nova in the Vorash system.

She was killed in a cave-in when Zipacna attacked the Tok'ra base on Revenna.

Selmak
The liaison between Earth and the Tok'ra, he took Jacob Carter as his host voluntarily. Ever since he has been acting with Earth to fight against the Goa'uld, giving the Tok'ra point of view on certain of Earth's decisions in the past.
