BIOGRAPHY

A minor Goa'uld that was not even a System Lord, he is also credited for having taught the ancient Egyptians how to build the pyramids.

He apparently never had any significant power and ruled a back-water world. Seeing that his position among the Goa'uld was insignificant, Imhotep launched a bold plan to gain the favour of the System Lords as well as secure more power for himself. While masquerading as his former first prime, Kytano, he amassed an army of rebel Jaffa who wanted freedom from the System Lords' tyranny. Declaring a planet the new homeworld of the Jaffa, he proceeded to attack several planets belonging to Zipacna, Nirrti, Yu as well as other System Lords.

Seeking an alliance with Earth, he quickly accepted the proposition brought forth by SG-1. Seeing Teal'c and Bra'tac's desire for the freedom of all Jaffa, Imhotep used this to his advantage and sent Teal'c to personally kill Lord Yu who had been weakened by Osiris in a battle shortly after the summit of the System Lords. Teal'c was captured and brought in front of Yu, who explained the truth about Imhotep's deception and his own plans to attack the Jaffa world. Upon returning, Teal'c challenged Imhotep and killed him in battle, just as Yu's mothership started attacking the planet from orbit.

NOTES

Imhotep is said to have really existed in ancient Egypt, although not as a Goa'uld, he is credited for having built the step pyramid.
