BIOGRAPHY

A Goa'uld from ancient times. He was banished from the System Lords for crimes that were unspeakable, even for the Goa'uld. He was so despised by the System Lords that they even attempted to have him murdered after his banishment, an attempt that had apparently failed.

For over one thousand years, Anubis quietly built up his forces in secrecy from the System Lords who still believed him dead. As he continued to build up his forces, he also managed to acquire some very advanced technology, some of which even the Asgard, currently one of the most advanced races, have trouble to keep up with. It is also rumoured that he took another non-human host, but up to date, these are simply rumours.

Seeking to consolidate his power without revealing himself too quickly to the System Lords, Anubis enlisted several Goa'uld as underlords to lead his new offensive against the System Lords. He first enlisted Tanith and Zipacna, sending Tanith to test his new shield technology on Tollana, successfully defending against their ion cannons. Tanith forced the Tollans to build weapons of mass-destruction using their advanced technology in order to destroy Earth. The attempt failed and Tanith completely obliterated Tollana.

Several months after, Anubis began his attacks on the System Lords. They agreed on a truce and met on a neutral space station in the Hassara system in order to discuss an alliance against him. Seeing this as an opportunity to regain his lost status as System Lord, Anubis sent Zipacna to recruit Osiris as his ambassador to the System Lords who successfully managed to obtain a seat for him among the System Lords. During the negotiations, Zipacna was attacking the Tok'ra world of Revanna in the hopes of obtaining a new anti-symbiotic poison the Tok'ra were developing. The attempt proved in vain, the poison being used on his own jaffa army.

Several months after the summit, he sent Osiris to attack an Asgard laboratory located on one of the protected planets. Using advanced shield and weapon technology. Osiris managed to capture Thor and he was to be interrogated by Anubis who would use his advanced technology to directly download the Asgard secrets from his brain. Thor was saved before the interrogation was complete. Anubis was forced to retreat after being confronted by three O'Neill-class Asgard ships.

In order to attack Earth, Anubis used a powerful machine created by the Ancients that would overload the stargate and effectively use it to destroy Earth. He guarded the planet where the device was held with a fleet of motherships as well as legions of jaffa. The device eventually destroyed by Rya'c, Teal'c's son, by using a death glider to obliterate the massive machine.

Aware of Tok'ra infiltration among his underlords, Anubis used Khonsu in order to attempt to capture SG-1. When Herak(Khonsu's first prime) killed Khonsu, all pertinent information was lost to Anubis.

After using an ashrak equiped with a personal cloaking device to destroy a Tok'ra base on the planet Risa, this same ashrak attempted to sew discord amongst the rebel jaffa and Tok'ra in hopes of starting a conflict between the two forces.

NOTES

From images seen of Anubis, he does not appear to have taken a human host. This may explain his advanced technology, but as to the identity of the host's race remains a mystery.
